jQuery browser detection

jQuery browser detection was working fine for me until recently. jQuery.browser started detecting my Internet Explorer 8 as version 6, even if it was in IE7 mode.
The solution: there are a lot of jQuery browser detection plugins but the javascript solution on this page works for me.
